Global Design Project - Theme Challenge #gdp063

I love the Theme for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp063
We are going on an 'Adventure', and I know my style of adventure is not necessarily everyone's 'cup of tea'.
My family and I love back to nature; caravaning & camping, depending on the Season - and this week I have used one of the cutest stampsets and it reminds me of a little holiday we had a few years back....

My 'Dream' Caravan. My dream 'Stamp-a-van'!
Could you imagine a craft retreat within this divine caravan - beside the ocean? I could!
The background is a wash of 'Stampin' Write Markers' onto a 'Clear Block Size 'E' - 'Pear Pizazz', 'Crumb Cake', 'Daffodil Delight' for the sand & sun, 'Marina Mist' & 'Soft Sky'.
Colour straight onto the Block with the markers, then spritz with a 'Stampin' Spritzer' filled with water, and stamp the block straight onto 'Shimmery White Cardstock'
Wait until dry to stamp the sun onto the 'Daffodil Delight'.
*My card measures 17.8cm x 11.4cm (scored at 8.9cm) or 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" (scored at 3 1/2")

I stamped onto 'Very Vanilla' Cardstock, and stamped onto other pieces of cardstock and fussy-cut the accents using 'Pool Party', 'Smoky Slate', 'Basic Gray' cardstock for the tyre, 'Peekaboo Peach' cardstock for the Bunting & 'Calypso Coral' for the reflector lights. The windows are fussy-cut from 'Shimmery White' cardstock.

This is where my inspiration for my 'Adventure' themed card came from...

Back in April 2011, we took our little boys for a weekend away on our first caravaning trip, staying in my friends caravan. There were Kangaroos, and Rainbow Lorikeets and the lake, and the ocean! An Aussie weekend of bliss.

Is this not the perfect stampset for an 'Adventure' Theme? This stampset covers all of your adventures and Holidays;
Summer/Spring, Halloween, & Christmas, Night & Day
And soooooo perfect for your 'Project Life' Albums!!!
And it is on sale in the Online Extravaganza at 10% off until tomorrow - Monday 28th November.

And on the inside.... One of my favourite quotes;
'Thankyou' J.R.R. TOLKIEN.

Thankyou for visiting. I hope you get the chance to 'Adventure!'

International Project Highlights - 'Love'

| on
07:00
It's time for another International Project Highlights, using current Stampin' Up! Products. The amazing Kylie Bertucci has organised a Visual Blog Hop with the Theme: 'Love'.
Let's see what creations await...

My creations are all about 'Love', right down to the Sneak Peek of NEW products available in January from the Occasions Catalogue from the 'Sending Love Suite'.
One of my work colleagues has bought an Engagement ring for his love, and is now all nervous and excited about the proposal. This gave me an idea for my creations...

Instead of a card, I have made a message in a bottle, and a cute little box filled with Hershey's Kisses! Imagine opening the box to find an Engagement ring inside, surrounded by kisses? Cute!

The note paper stamped using the sweet 'Love Note' stamp, rolled up and tied with 'Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine'. I added some of the punched hearts into the bottle too.

As for the bow on the bottle: I punched a strip of 'Real Red' cardstock using the 'Confetti Hearts Border Punch' - on sale at 30% off until November 28th.
I grabbed my 'Bow Builder Punch' and punched bows from the Heart cardstock and some 'Whisper White' cardstock. Adhering the Red hearts onto the Whisper White, and making up the bow.
And the swing tag? Stop-the-cuteness!!!

The box is made using the 'Stampin' Trimmer'; by cutting and scoring the cardstock and DSP, then paper snips to snip the tabs, some adhesive and you're done!
DSP Lid: 12.2cm x 12.2cm (4 13/16" x 4 13/16")
Score: 2.5cm on all 4 sides (1" on all 4 sides)

Cardstock Bottom: 15cm x 15cm (6" x 6")
Score: 4cm on all 4 sides (1 9/16" on all 4 sides)

Thankyou for visiting, and I hope you love our 'Love' Theme for the Visual Blog Hop? You are more than welcome to leave me some love too. Have a love-ly day!

Global Design Project - 'Sketch Challenge' #gdp062

| on
10:36
Hello! The Global Design Project have a Sketch Challenge #gdp062 for this week. And what a great sketch!
There are so many possibilities to create from a sketch, but this week I already had something in mind and I tried a new technique as well.

I have been invited to a Baby Shower for my lovely friend Molly, and she already knows she is having a little girl. So, I have busted out the pink and I came up with this creation...

I haven't used the 'Something for Baby' stamp set and 'Baby's First Framelits Dies' in a while, and I couldn't go past the pram for my Baby Shower card. A lovely solid stamp with a coordinating Framelit Die to die-cut a perfect image.

Something for Baby stamp set            Baby's First Framelits Dies

I want to show you how I coloured my pram and it is such a unique and lovely effect.
My friend Angela Meiritz-Reid, from New Zealand presented at OnStage Live in Brisbane recently and we now have a new technique called the 'AMR technique' dubbed by Kylie
Luckily, Angela has made a video and you can watch it here:

I have used the 'Pink Pirouette' Classic Stampin' Pad then edged the stamp with a 'Melon Mambo' Stampin' Write Marker, making sure to mark all the lines around the pram.
The wheels have been stamped using 'Smoky Slate' Classic Stampin' Pad and edged using the 'Basic Gray' Stampin' Write Marker - I fussy cut the wheels and adhered them over the top of the original image.

My card base is made from the 'Smoky Slate' polka dots from the 'Neutrals Background Designer Series Papaer Stack'. The underside of the DSP has a beautiful script font, and I highlighted some of the words with a marker. And a sweet line of hearts stamped at the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock.

Thankyou for visiting my blog today. I hope you have been inspired by my Baby card for this weeks Challenge? And I love hearing from you, so you are most welcome to leave me a comment. D x

Creation Station Design Team Blog Hop - 'Giving Thanks'

| on
00:00
Welcome to my Blog, and to almost the middle of November! I don't know about you, but this year has flown by so fast! Time flies when you're having fun, right?
The 'Creation Station Design Team' have a 'Giving Thanks' Blog Hop theme for this month - welcome if you have hopped from Dena or from Kathy, and be sure to check out all the gorgeous creations by clicking the links at the bottom of my post.

We all say 'Thankyou' and appreciate someone or others at some stage, and as we don't celebrate 'Thanksgiving' in Australia, I have created 'Thank You' notecards for my husband Andrew, to give to his staff.
Andrew is a Teaching Principal in a small government Primary (Elementary) school of 80 students in Kangaroo Valley NSW, and his teaching staff, office staff, librarian, cleaner and groundsman all contribute to the social and educational success of the students.

A perfect masculine card for the School Groundsman don't you think?
I did a little reconstruction of the sentiment on the banner (as per my customers wishes)I added a 'Soft Suede' banner atop the original stamped image. I then cut down the 'So, so much' and used 'Stampin' Dimensionals' for a little lift from the banner

Using beautiful 'Bermuda Bay' and adding my own embellishments; layering different ribbons & the cute little flowers & leaves from the 'Tree Builder Punch' to make a pretty card for the ladies.

The production line of creating; precut DSP & cardstock, stamped & die-cut images, ribbon rolls and DIY punched flower embellishments ready for making.

'Thankyou' so much for visiting my blog.
To see more amazing 'Giving Thanks' creations visit my friend Kathy by clicking the 'On to the NEXT' button, or hop to my friend Dena by clicking the 'Go BACK' button. I can't wait to see what gorgeous creations the Design Team have come up with and I am sure you will not be disappointed. D x

Global Design Project - 'Colour Challenge' #gdp061

Wow! What a weekend we had at OnStage Live Brisbane 2016!
It was so wonderful to meet up with fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Australia, and from around the world. The buzz and excitement of a Stampin' Up! Convention is nothing short of fun and awesome times.
If you want to join me for OnStage Local Sydney 2017 in April, all you have to do is join my team. I'll be back with more about joining Stampin' Up! soon, or you can contact me anytime.

Clockwise top left:
OnStage here we are! Woo-hoo!; Roomie gift tag to the amazing Louise Sharp (gift yet to be blogged!); The view from our balcony in beautiful South Brisbane; Roomie gifts from the amazing Artisan Design Team Member 2017 Louise Sharp! (Read all about Louise's exciting news on her blog.)

So, best to be getting on with this weeks Global Design Project 'Colour Challenge' #gdp061

With a little trepidation as to the colour palette (not my go-to colours), I took a deep breath and literally challenged myself to create something using the NEW 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies' and the colours in question...
I made some notecards and showcasing the 3 shapes from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies'.
I surrounded the Die-cut shapes with 'Sweet Sugarplum' flowers & 'Emerald Envy' leaves water coloured, stamped & die cut from the 'Swirly Bird Bundle'.
The 'Circle of Spring' sentiments are stamped in 'Basic Black Archival Ink'.
Dimensions: 15.2cm x 7.6cm scored at 7.6cm
(6" x 3" scored at 3"),

A close up of the flourish of flowers and the sparkle of the Shimmery White cardstock. And the gorgeous stitching of the Die-cut circle.

So, how did I create my flowers & leaves?
When you die-cut a stamped image, there is a border of cardstock left around the edge, in this case it would have been a white border.
*Firstly, I water coloured a piece of 'Shimmery White' cardstock with 'Emerald Envy' ink, and another piece with 'Sweet Sugarplum' ink leaving the cardstock to dry completely.

*Once the water coloured Shimmery White cardstock was dry, I stamped the 'Swirly Bird' leaf image using 'Emerald Envy' onto the coordinating water coloured cardstock, and the flower image onto the coordinating 'Sweet Sugarplum' water coloured cardstock.

*The stamped images were die-cut with the coordinating 'Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies', and you are left with full colour images.

Here are the measurements of the dies I used (2nd smallest of each shape), and showing the negative space from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies'.
The 'Whisper White' cardstock measures 7cm x 15cm and I was able to fit the 3 dies together. This makes for 1 run through the Big Shot, saving time doing each shape 1 by 1.

It's Colour Challenge week and you could be a Guest Designer for the next Colour Challenge! Click on the banner below.
I hope you get the chance to play along?

Global Design Project - 'CASE the Designer' #gdp060

| on
13:02

It's the 11th hour, and I am submitting my creation for this weeks Global Design Project 'CASE the Designer' Challenge #gdp060.
This week we are CASEing the amazing Brian King and his gorgeous 'Bear Hugs' card.
*CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

My creation has the same layout - Brian loves using layers for his creations. And the coloured sentiment, however, I have used a different stamp sets and colour combination.

My 'Foxy Friends' little grey fox sitting on his stump! And the gorgeous 'A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack' is the perfect background for my CASE the Designer creation.

The 'I simply adore you' sentiment is from the 'Mixed Borders' Photopolymer stamp set. I used 'Basic Grey' & 'Calypso Coral' Stampin' Write Markers to colour the sentiment before stamping, to get the multi colour effect.

Thankyou for visiting. At some stage I will be blogging about my On Stage Live from Brisbane this past weekend. So much fun!
