Sail Away With Me - Global Design Project Colour Challenge #gdp037

The Global Design Project has done it again, with a gorgeous trio of colours for this weeks Colour Challenge #gdp037.

I am loving the colours for this week, and I couldn't wait to get my thoughts onto cardstock!

I wanted to use NEW products I was able to pre-order, and a Sneak Peek for you too. 'Sail Away With Me' - a tribute to the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are enjoying their well earned Incentive Trip as of right now!
How cute is the little yacht? A tad smaller than the 'Norwegian Epic' cruising the Mediterranean!

I have used the NEW 'Swirly Bird Bundle' - available in the NEW Annual Catalogue 1st June, 2016. I love it and you will love it. I know it!
The water scene was created using the 'Wave Die' with 'Island Indigo' cardstock & inlaid with 'Mint Macaron' cardstock.

My favourite of favourites; the Alphabet Rotary Stamp (retiring) was used to make the sentiment. White embossing powder on 'Tip Top Taupe' cardstock on top of 'Stampin' Dimensionals'.
And the yacht: the sails, hull & flag are stamped & fussy cut, then adhered to coordinating cardstock & fussy cut again. Sitting on 'Stampin' Dimensionals' for a little lift off the card.

Thankyou for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my creation for this week? I am looking forward to more making with the 'Swirly Bird Bundle' and make sure you put this one onto your Wish List.
Have an awesome week. D x

Affectionately Yours - Case the Designer Challenge #gdp036

21:29
Today we are CASEing the lovely Paula Dobson, a Design Team Member from the Global Design Project #gdp036.
And here is Paula's divine creation we are to CASE!...
(CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit)
My CASE of Paula's card using sneak peek products...

My card is portrait style, and I have made my first inlaid die cut using the 'Thanks' sentiment from the 'Greetings Thinlits Dies'.
Instead of stamping the floral background, I have used Designer Series Paper - and it's the NEW 'Affectionately Yours DSP' available in the NEW Annual Catalogue 1st June, 2016.
It's divine!

And a close up of the Copper embossed 'Thanks' sentiment and banner using the 'Cottage Greetings' stampset.
Wow!, that Copper Embossing Powder.
Again. Divine!

Landscape style using the 'Affectionately Yours DSP' and a different colour way; Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight.

A teeny banner and the sentiment is from the 'Endless Thanks' stampset - embossed in no other than, Copper Embossing Powder.

And another colour way; Crumb Cake & Watermelon Wonder.

Thankyou for visiting and taking the time to get this far. Don't forget you can order the 'Affectionately Yours DSP' and 'Copper Embossing Powder' 1st June, 2016 when the NEW Annual Catalogue is available. And I hope you enjoyed my creations?

Memory Keeping - Global Design Project Theme Challenge #gdp035

12:01

This week is a 'Project Life®' Theme Challenge for the Global Design Project #gdp035.
Have you heard of 'Project Life®'? If you haven't then I will explain further on, and if you have, I hope to get you inspired.
Now, this is just what I needed to be getting all of my photos from my phone & computer, printed and into an album! (Maybe this is just what you need too?) Make sure you check out the Design Team creations - they are fabulous!

Project Life® by Stampin' Up!®
'Project Life® is a simple system for organising your photos into albums. A few basic products are all you need to get started, so you can spend more time living and less on memory-keeping.'

So here goes... my first attempt at Project Life®.

I have made my own cards for the '12" x 12" Project Life Photo Pocket Pages'. I used the 'Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies' for my card bases, and assorted stamp sets and punches to embellish. I decided to get our boys photos into albums (finally!), and I made their first pages somewhat the same using the Portrait or Landscape cards - and printing the photos accordingly.

This Page uses a 12" x 12" Photo Pocket Page, and I printed photos of our first born (2008) in Colour and Black & White. The White card will be for all the Newborn information; some information we need to keep just for us.
I wish I captured the look on Harrison's face when I showed him his page; he was so happy. And me too.

And this one is for Finnlay (2010) - again, the look on his face when I showed him his page was priceless. I am now on a mission to complete more pages and get the boys an album each.

Two happy little vegemites and their 'Newborn' Photo Pages. A little bit late, but now I will make an absolute effort to continue this lovely and fun way of memory-keeping.

Youtube: Watch this Project Life® by Stampin' Up! video.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to visit. I now know how easy and fun Project Life® is, and I really hope you get the opportunity to start yourself.
Have fun memory-keeping! D x

PS: I was on a roll.... I had the 6" x 8" Photo Pocket Pages, and started some pages of the two boys together. I made the cards myself using the 'Sweet Li'l Things Designer Series Paper', and coordinating cardstock in Hello Honey, Pool Party, Tangelo Twist & Tip Top Taupe. Various stamp sets and punches as well. D x

'Thankyou' - Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight

| on
18:30
Kylie Bertucci has organised another 'International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight', and the theme is 'Thank you'. Don't forget that you can vote for your favourite entry!!!

We are to choose someone to send our 'Thank you' to and I have chosen Brian King. Yes, the Brian King!!!

My 'Thank you' card is on it's way to Brian...
I have sent my 'Thank you' to Brian because he is A-MA-ZING! Brian is on the Design Team for the Global Design Project Challenge. Every week I enter a creation in the GDP Challenge, and Brian has left me a comment on every single one of my blog posts. He has even sent me a personal email because he loved one of my creations so much!
Brian makes my day when he leaves me such an enthusiastic and lovely comment that I wanted to send him his very own 'Thank you' created by me.

I have recently created some cards and tags using the 'Going Global' Suite, and the whole set of stamps & 'Going Places DSP' are perfect for masculine projects.
The card base is 'Kraft cardstock' with a mat of 'Delightful Dijon cardstock'. I punched tiny stars using the 'Confetti Stars Punch' from 'Gold Foil Sheets' and scattered the stars all over the 'Going Places DSP'. With left over DSP from the 6"x6" sheet, I made a simple Gift Tag.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog post for Kylie's International Stampin' Up! Blog Hightlight? Although the 'Going Global Suite' is about to retire, the products are still available on the Retiring List while stocks last.
'Thank you' for being here, and 'Thank you' Brian! D x

Hello Life - Global Design Project #gdp034

| on
16:15
It's out with the old, and in with the new for this weeks Global Design Project 'Sketch Challenge' #gdp034. And I love this sketch, thanks to Teneale Williams.
I am using an about to retire stamp set combined with the NEW 'In Colours 2016-2018'. It's always fun to have a sneak peek at NEW products, and I know they have been well received - but I had to use them...
My watercolour wash background using the NEW In Colour 'Emerald Envy' & the 'Emerald Envy cardstock' mat. The sentiment from 'Hello Life' is heat embossed using the NEW 'Copper Embossing Powder'. Oh my, this embossing powder is something else!

All of the NEW 'In Colours' sitting pretty together;
Top left to right: Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach
Bottom left to right: Emerald Envy & Dapper Denim

A close up of the 'Peekaboo Peach' watercoloured background, and the more than gorgeous 'Copper Embossing Powder'. You can also see some sparkle of the 'Shimmery White cardstock' too.
I would normally use 'Watercolour paper' when watercolouring, however the 'Shimmery White cardstock' is also lovely to use for your watercolouring creations. Be sure to let the cardstock dry fully before heat embossing.

Thankyou so much for visiting my blog, and I hope you have enjoyed my entries for this weeks GDP. You can join in on the fun too. Have a great weekend! D x

Creation Station Blog Hop 'Going Global'

| on
23:00
Hello, and welcome to the May 'Creation Station Design Team' Blog Hop! You have hopped to my blog from Sara, or back from Nicole - a HUGE welcome to you. Make sure you keep on hopping to be inspired by some incredibly talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the Globe, and believe me you are going to be inspired by their creations.

This month the theme is 'Going Global' and we are creating for the guys. I often find myself stuck to create a masculine project, and I have managed to create a few projects for you.

My first creation, using the 'Circle Card Thinlits Dies' and the divine 'Kraft cardstock'...
The 'Globe' stamp was coloured using 'Stampin' Write Markers'. I spritzed the image with water and stamped straight onto 'Watercolour Paper'.
Inside the Circle Flip is the compass - I fussy cut the points and mounted them onto 'Stampin' Dimensionals', then added some 'Gold Wink of Stella' to finish.
My second creation uses the 'World Traveller Textured Impression Embossing Folder'. This was so fun to make, and I added a Hot Air Balloon - reminding me of 'Around the World in 80 Days' by Jules Verne.
I swiped the 'Marina Mist Stampin' Pad' onto the TIEF to colour the water - the water is raised on the 'SIZZIX' side of the TIEF and the countries are left clean to colour using 'Stampin' Write Markers'.
  • Spritz TIEF with water
  • Place the 'Watercolour Paper' into the TIEF and close
  • Run the TIEF through the Big Shot
  • Allow 'Watercolour Paper' to dry fully before creating.

Speaking of 'Around the World in 80 Days' - I created this card using the quote from the original 1956 movie poster.
Using the 'World Traveller TIEF' on 'Kraft cardstock', I edged the countries with the 'Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker', and traced over the Longitude & Latitude lines as well. The quote was created using the fabulous and about to retire 'Alphabet Rotary Stamp'. I will miss this rotary stamp BIG TIME!

And last but not least a few Gift Tags to showcase the other stamps in the 'Going Global' stampset. The 'Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack' has gorgeous patterns, and I love this undulating mountain scene. I stamped the sentiments onto 'Kraft cardstock' and then backed with 'Lost Lagoon' cardstock.

Thankyou for being here. I hope you have some new ideas for the 'Going Global Suite' found in the Occasions Catalogue. If you have any questions, ask away. I love hearing from you.
Happy travels and keep on hopping! D x
